Surgery update!

Justin is doing well. He came through surgery strong, healthy and as funny as Justin is. He came out of surgery wondering about a problem with a work laptop ~ I love my husbands brain! :-)

The lump is at pathology and will have results on 2 December 2008. The "lump" appeared to be alien like. It was larger than I expected. It appeared to be marbled fat and the doctor referred to it as necrotic fat. Not sure what all that means, but we will see what is revealed.

He has a large incision in his shoulder and he says it feels hollow where the lump was.

For those of you wanting an update.  Apparently some miscommunication occurred between Justin and the doctors office.  Surgery wasn't on Friday - it was a consult.  HOWEVER, surgery has been scheduled for Wednesday November 19 at 12p CST.  Your prayers are still coveted - the mass seems to be growing and is now visible from the surface.  Justin feels no pain, but I have noticed that he is much more lethargic.  He's very tired which to me indicates his body is fighting something.

The doctor isn't sure what it is, and certainly can't tell us it's not cancer.  The surgeons comment, "It doesn't feel like cancer, but none the less should come out."  We won't know until it's sent to Pathology and those results are back.  The doctor did say, "I do think this is a big NOTHING."  OH MAN I hope he's right!

Pray for Justin in strength, growth in his walk and that we as a couple give God the glory for this (good or bad).

I won't lie - I was scarred about my lump, but always found an inner strength.  This is much harder to watch a loved one endure something like this.  I believe myself to be one of those people who would take something like this on for someone else if it meant no pain, no suffering and that they could continue living as normal.  I guess that wouldn't be any good either as we wouldn't grow in Christ.

I love my husband so very much.  We may not see eye to eye on every bit of everything and for those of you know Justin and know me...we can be fairly boldly bullheaded and exceptionally difficult.  Since something like this has come up, I remember to tell him a 100 times a day "I love you."  I find us praying more and more together than at our designated times - when you stop - pray with one another.  Never assume you have a  life time with someone because the reality is a life time may not be 50, 60, 70, or 80 years, it may be very short.  

Remember daily to tell those around you what they mean to you.  Celebrate your life with them and never believe you're invincible!

Prayer Request

About a month ago, Justin found a lump in his Right Shoulder area. We thought it to be a cyst and I crazily asked my husband to reduce his caffeine intake seriously. So Justin reducing his caffeine intake the believed to be cyst wasn't going away. In fact it appeared to be getting larger. Justin decided to visit our new family doctor after my scare with the lump in my breast.

After a few weeks of waiting, an ultra sound was performed to see if the lump was a cyst (fluid or mass filled). The doctor called Justin this week and here's the results. The lump is fluid and mass filled and he must have the lump surgically removed - we don't know what it is (Benign growth). The doctor was very stern about it's removal since a has blood flow. Surgery is this Friday, November 14, 2008 at 10a CST.

I'm trying to hold myself together for Justin. I'm also remaining as positive as possible; once again I ask for your prayers. I will ask selfishly that the lump be nothing and that my husband will be perfectly fine once again. My biggest fear is that its cancer - Justin is only 30 soon to be 31. We need strength, courage, and endurance for what the future holds.

Ducks N Things

Today was a lot of fun. We had to get lost for several hours as we discovered that the cats have flea's and the house needed to be fumigated. So we started our 5 hour adventure at a near by outdoor mall that has a pond.


I must admit that a COLD front has moved in and it's was a very brisk walk around this pond today. Winter is on it's way - today's high a whole whopping 47 degree's.

As we walked around we encountered the ducks of Bradley Fair. Enjoy the pictures of our ducks.

My husband believes he can communicate with ducks and was desperately making an attempt. You'll notice that they didn't have much to do with him. :0)

Wichita Thunder

Last week Justin and I paid a visit to see our local hockey team - The Wichita Thunder. The game was a lot of fun - and the fans are certainly hockey fanatics who support their team no matter what. Unfortunately, the Thunder lost - but the fans let the other team know how much they "sucked". Here's a few pictures. Oh BTW - I colored and chopped my hair off. :-)

The two bulls were outside the stadium. We think they are made of car bumpers but aren't certain of that. They were way cool. :-)
