Prayer Request

So mom and granny have publically made it known that they are listing the house for sale. VERY EXCITING! It's up and they are beginning all the plans that it will take for their move to Kansas. We are very excited and patiently waiting on God in all of this.

Few things to pray about:
1. Mom is having medical problems - need some serious prayer coverage there. We're praying that her paperwork to be qualified as a Medical Indigent Adult comes through so the state can pay for her healthcare as she has no insurance to pay for her visits and procedures that may arise.

2. The house - we are all praying that Granny's house will sell and soon. They want to get the money down for their lot and start their process in our development.

3. That both mom and granny work together so that the most of what can happen can be accomplished in the limited time around the corner.

4. That mom will find a job here in Kansas.

5. That God be glorified in all that we say and do in our daily actions but particularly now as stress is added on.

We have much to be grateful for and thank the Lord above!! PRAISE GOD!

The house that borders our lot!

Here are some pictures of the development that we have bought our lot in! :-) It's very exciting and I have some news to report: Mom & Granny have decided to list Granny's house and move to KANSAS! :-) I pray that the home will sell and they can start to build as soon as they can! :-)

The Siren!

So a week ago Saturday, March 7th, Justin and I had an interesting evening. We were sitting in the living room, minding our own business and I asked: "Do you hear a humming sound?"

Justin: "No" So we go back to watching the show, a minute or two later I ask, "Justin, I don't think those guys put the receiver back on right or got it too close to something." So Justin gets up, checks the Dish Network receiver, then pauses the movie. The humming continues. Justin innately gets up and goes to the front door and opens the storm door. As he does that, he notices that the next door neighbors are scurring to get inside their homes. Now mind you, it's about 8p and it's dark outside and incredibly DEAD STILL. Just shouts, "TORNADO!" I scream, "BASEMENT, BASEMENT, BASEMENT!" He runs back to the bedroom's and starts screamaing to pick up the cats and get them down stairs. I get Ozzy, and take him down stairs, I run back upstairs to help Justin get the other two. I catch Schotzie with one hand; Justin got Charlie and the laptop. I grab my purse and cell phone and we charge down to our "safe area."

Once downstairs, I'm freaking out and hyper ventilating because this is the FIRST time I've EVER been in a tornado area where the sirens went off like this. Naturally from all the excitment I start crying and doing my own freak out mode amongst our dirty laundry in the basement. Yes, our safe room is right off the laundry room, and I had been doing laundry that day, so we were sitting on the laundry.

Any who, Justin is clever, pulls out the laptop and begins to surf the location of the tornado. Luckily it was no where near us, and the way the county is set-up is that the sirens will sound if there is a tornado on the ground anywhere in the county. Oh boy I was freaked out for the rest of the evening, even the cats new something was up.

We had serious thunderstorms with lots of hail and when there is hail, there are winds and the possibilities of a tornado. Everything turned out alright, but as the weather continues to get warmer, and teh hot and cold fronts collide so will my excitment level during this time of year will rise TREMENDOUSLY!

Colors

So I have no update as to the plans of the house yet. This has been quite an adventure - oh man! It seems like we've had people come out of the woodworks telling us what our house should have....insulation, radiant heating floors, tripple paned windows...all kinds of stuff. Things I honestly never thought about, and am glad to have learned more from them on those items. Unfortunately, our pocket books says...no to some of those things. We will upgrade our insulation to the better value, and we are upgrading from an electric range to a gas range. The same for the dryer. I was amazed to learn just how many homes are sill 100% electric. Natural gas is more expensive and is considered an upgradeable item fo us...WOW! But we both miss cooking on gas or rather, I MISS cooking on gas. We both do miss our brand new dryer that's been in the garage for about a year now.

However, that aside, I'm still working on basics - getting a plan we both like. Pray for us on this one because it's added a fair amount of stress to the Crutchley household.

For some reason or anothr, I can't get the pictures to cooperate with me today. SO, here are my color sugestions for the interior. I have the ability to paint the house one color, because the charge $100 per room. A little too expenive in my opinion, and I personally have never been afrad of a roller and some paint. :-) Anyway, tell me your thoughts. I think my personal preference is the top middle color of the tricolor. The house would be the exterior of the house, which would have some brick at the bottom. However, the overall color would be a light gray, with black and white accents of color. The bedroom color would besomething I would consider for the rest of the house, but at times seems incredibly dark. A penny for your thoughts?

Looking forward to hearing some feedback - it would be great!

HOUSE!!!

Sorry all for not updating in quite a while, we've been very busy! :-) I am happy to report that last night we put down a deposit on a lot of land to build our first HOME! We are very excited about what waits.

We've picked options, will finish our basement for over 2,500 square feet. We are waiting for the builder to finalize our plans as they provided us with a floor plan that we don't care for. This was the plan we originally wanted, but we both don't like the master bedroom off the kitchen. See the plan here: http://www.preferrednewhomes.com/images/floorplans/8/1341.pdf

The picture above is another one we are considering and hopefully the builder won't charge us an arm and a leg for the changes. ha!
