Let's go to the Zoo!

So today, we spent a good three hours at the Sedgwick County Zoo. I was very excited because they recently have new Tigers (Here KITTY KITTY KITTY!). So our journey began mid afternoon, we all got up and ready to go, inquired if EVERYONE was appropriately dressed....and yes was the response. Below are some pictures of us at the zoo... Enjoy!

It was a warm slightly humid day, not too humid as my hair stayed straight. However, it was pleasantly warm and enjoyable. Granny, wore shoes that were not appropriate for zoo day! She wore sandals with a heel and for those of you who know granny, granny doesn't move fast these days anyways. Towards the back of the zoo was the Tiger exhibit, it took us forever to get to the big kitties!

We finally got to the exhibit and enjoyed it tremendously, but then granny couldn't make it back to the front of the zoo. So Justin and I went ahead and asked someone to help us out. Granny was rescued by a golf cart who zoomed zoomed us back to the front!

I will say, that zoo's are wonderful places, but today I was a bit bothered by the Tiger display. One of the kitties, didn't want to be separated from her sister and as a result she was alone. She paced back and forth, back and forth. A very beautiful fierce being, but very unhappy and it bothered me a great deal to see the distress. I suppose that's life in a zoo.

THE HOUSE & Memorial Day Weekend!

So with everything that's been going on, it's been a little difficult to keep the blog up to date! HOWEVER; the following are pictures of the basement foundation of our new home.







We've started selecting carpet, flooring, tiles, counter tops and lot of other very fun things.

PS. Take some time and remember our veterans of today and yesterday who are serving and have served. Take a moment, to pause as you put your hot dogs and hamburgers ont he grill, or as you visit the lake excited about the day off. Remember it's our veterans service that keeps us alive every day. For as many problems that the right or left view back and forth, remember america's moral fabric consists of those who serve and have served.



I for one am glad to serve my country, but that those ahead and beside me (Grandfather's, Father, Husband & Brother) have given and are giving more than I can dream of! Only their scarfices will tell the stories to those in the future about what and who America is! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!

Life Happens

So last week mom was diagnosed with Rectal Cancer. The intent was to always have them come out to Kansas; but now there is a greater sense of urgency. I came back to California thinking she was going to need surgery, turns out that surgery isn't right around the corner as we had hoped. So, we'll be moving them out sooner. This week was started by God answering tons of prayer!

Mom is a candidate for a Clinical Trial at the Cancer Care Institute in Wichita, KS. Some of the harder issues is finding financial care for the rest and regular office visits outside of treatment.

Granny's house sold - we began escrow on Wednesday night and there we hope it stays until the end.

We've started moving their house and all the earthly possessions. HAVE YOU ever seen a house that has 35 years worth of JUNK! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH WWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

I've cleaned, cleaned and cleaned....and CLEANED out areas that I never knew existed in this house. ha!

We plan to begin our trek across the southern part of the US to Wichita on Saturday, 9 May. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Mom and I are a bit worried with granny, we believe this might be too much for her emotionally and physically. I imagine it's distressing to see your home where memories have been made over at least half your life are difficult to leave behind.

Mom's spirits are high and she's very excited to move to Ks. The support system in place there is awaiting her arrival to do all we can do to fight back and rid her body of the cancer.

Good things are happening and God is responsible for all of it. Thank you for your prayers for mom and prayers for our move.

Good things are happening for my dad, he's had paperwork dropped to finally add him full time with benefits to the county of Santa Barbara. His time has paid off and that's very exciting, somthing to work towards retirement, sick leave and other benefits!!
